The Heron's Nest Volume XXII Number 4 December 2020

I finally made it into The Heron's Nest!  This is one of those haiku that just appeared fully formed.  I originally submitted it to the Words in Bloom project with the Chicago Botanic Gardens but they chose one of my other haiku that will be revealed at a later date.  So I sent this one to The Heron's Nest and they liked it!  I wrote it for my awkward, pre-teen self--bless her heart--to let her know that I see her.  Thank you to the editors at The Heron's Nest for seeing this haiku! 

And thanks also to my Mom, who always saw me and helped me learn to see myself.
